In perfumery, there are three categories of olfactory notes, depending on how long they last. Top notes are those that last the shortest, i.e. a few minutes. Next come the heart notes, which last for a few hours, and finally the base notes, which truly impregnate the skin or clothing for several hours.

- Fleur de Pivoine's top notes are fresh and floral, reminiscent of jasmine and bergamot.

- The heart notes are also floral, but more powdery, with peony, violet, rose and geranium.

- The base notes are musky and iridescent, thanks to heliotrope, patchouli and musk.
