In perfumery, there are three categories of olfactory notes, depending on how long they last. Top notes are those that last the shortest, i.e. a few minutes. Next come the heart notes, which last for a few hours, and finally the base notes, which truly impregnate the skin or clothing for several hours.

- The top notes of Fleur d'Oranger are composed of citrus, mainly bergamot.

- The heart notes are equally tangy and floral, with petitgrain and neroli.

- The base notes are woody and light, thanks to sandalwood.
