The care product prepared by the Emuage machine from the Coenzyme Q10 capsule (with water and texture capsule) contains more than 0.2% of the active molecule (according to CIR, following the evaluation of 421 cosmetic products in the USA in 2019, the highest concentration found was 0.05%).

How it works
Niacinamide (vitamin B3) acts as a versatile biological regulator. Its effectiveness lies in its ability to penetrate rapidly into the various skin layers, where it is involved in several essential metabolic processes.

In the sebaceous glands, it modulates the enzymatic activity responsible for sebum overproduction, normalizing its excretion and reducing the shiny appearance of oily skin. This regulation is accompanied by an antimicrobial action which, combined with its anti-inflammatory properties, helps combat blemishes and blackheads.

With regard to hyperpigmentation, niacinamide inhibits the transfer of melanosomes (vesicles containing melanin) from melanocytes to keratinocytes, thus limiting the distribution of the pigment responsible for brown spots.

Its restorative action stimulates the synthesis of ceramides and fatty acids, essential components of the skin's barrier integrity. This action strengthens the skin's ability to retain water and protect itself from external aggression, soothing irritation.

Finally, its role as a precursor of NAD and NADP, coenzymes involved in numerous cellular reactions, promotes the production of energy needed for skin renewal and the synthesis of collagen and elastin, helping to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Studies
As far back as 1999, a study demonstrated the efficacy of this renowned active ingredient, with a significant reduction in wrinkle depth when 0.3% ubiquinone was applied topically, as well as its antioxidant and protective effect against photoaging.

A 2015 study on women aged 20 to 66 also demonstrated its protective effect on skin that had suffered oxidative stress, after 2 weeks' use of a cream containing around 0.03% ubiquinone.
